In the past, there were concerns about uPVC surface damage and discoloration due to prolonged UV exposure. At SCS, we address these issues by exclusively offering tested and reputable German uPVC windows that are specifically approved for the Australian climate.

The base option for uPVC windows comes in a standard white finish. However, we also provide a variety of standard colours, limited to the approved range from our supplier. We offer several laminate foil (wood effect uPVC) options in different colours and a woodgrain finish, which can be customized to suit your project with combinations such as:

• Laminate foil inside/outside
• Laminate foil outside/white inside

The most popular uPVC finishes are wood effect and anthracite grey windows. Our standard range of laminate foil colours can be accessed via the Downloads tab.

Recognizing the limited expertise in Australia, SCS offers a unique finishing method for uPVC windows that is not commonly available from other local manufacturers. Our uPVC windows can be spray painted in the factory in any RAL colour of your choice. Similar to the laminate finish, spray paint finishes can be applied in the following combinations:

• Spray paint RAL inside/outside
• Spray paint outside/white inside

uPVC double glazed windows are a popular choice for most renovation projects due to their excellent balance of performance and affordability. For new buildings or structures requiring higher energy efficiency, triple glazed uPVC windows are often the preferred option, offering enhanced insulation and energy ratings.

The type of glazing selected for a window can influence the daylight transmission, thermal properties, sound insulation, safety, privacy, and security of the whole window unit. It is essential that the glazing type is specified carefully for each project to ensure the end product provides a healthy, comfortable, temperature stable and quiet environment.

To achieve this balance, modern glazing technology has advanced to provide a wide variety of glass types and coatings. Double and triple glazed windows can use these glass types in combination in order to achieve the desired outcome. Double glazing combines two layers of glass with an insulated spacer in order to increase the thermal insulation of a window. Triple glazing combines three layers of glass with two insulated spacers in order to achieve greater thermal insulation.

Double & Triple Glazed Windows – Opening Types

SCS supplies double and triple glazed windows in a wide variety of shapes and configurations. The shape of the window and the opening type can influence the thermal and acoustic insulation, security, safety and structural strength of the window.

The most common type of window used throughout Europe and supplied by SCS. In one position, the window tilts inwards at the top for permanent ventilation. The second position swings inwards (similar to a door) for flush ventilation and cleaning. This window type uses a multi-point locking system to apply high compression on the double seals to reduce air penetration. These windows can also be made with a double opening (French style) to increase the clear opening and ventilation.
